Drinking milk has long been a contentious issue; is it healthy? Does it contribute to obesity or health problems? Does it suit those who are allergic? Let’s focus on the safety of ingesting Milk in Tetra Packs.

Consumption of Milk in Tetra Packs is a hot topic of discussion. There are false beliefs that this product is not suitable for consumption of adults or children. Such ideas are all simply incorrect. Milk is a must in everyone’s daily diet. This dairy product is consumable in a variety of ways, including milkshakes, buttermilk, and others.

In the past, practically all households in India chose to buy milk in pouches. Furthermore, they also preferred the loose milk that was delivered to their door. The milk obtained in the current milking situation is unhygienic because of the weather conditions and the working conditions of the cowsheds.

Additionally, the milk in pouches is simultaneously exposed to sunlight and temperature changes. This promotes the probability of bacterial infestation and multiplication greatly in the milk. Tetra pack cartons of milk are the only way to get safe milk.

Advantages of Milk in Tetra Packs

The milk sold in tetra packs is ultra-high-temperature (UHT) treated, which means it was heated to a rapid temperature between 135 and 137 degrees Celsius for roughly three seconds. To stop the beverage from contamination of microorganisms found in the air, this UHT treatment is a continuous process that takes place inside a closed system.

But before being filled and sealed in sterile tetra pack cartons, this milk has to go through swift successions of heating and cooling steps. Additionally, you should also note that this milk is not exposed to any outside elements. Furthermore, because of the packaging, no preservatives are added to extend the shelf life of the product.

Aseptic Packaging

Tetra packs use six-layered aseptic cartons for packing instead of the milk that is delivered by the milkman loose or in pouches. The package and the product are sterilized separately during the aseptic procedure. The item is sealed in a sterile environment when the sterilization procedure is finished.

No Need to Boil

This product doesn’t need to be boiled because it has undergone the UHT process. As soon as the carton is opened, it can be eaten straight from it.

Long Shelf Life

The product can be kept for up to 4-6 months in a sealed tetra pack carton. The consumer must immediately put it in the refrigerator after opening it, and it can keep there for up to five days.

Easy Availability

Tetra pack milk is no longer an uncommon item on the market because it is also easily accessible in neighborhood shops. In a nutshell, we can state that milk in tetra packs is safe for the family because it is completely preservative-free and quite hygienic.

If a product holds advantages, there must be disadvantages as well. This was true in the case of milk sold in tetra packs a few years earlier. The issue was with recycling of the carton. But now it is greatly sorted. If you are purchasing tetra pack milks from Amul, all products are packed in recyclable Tetra Pak cartons.

However, you must ensure that the “Recycle” sign is printed on the pack you buy. It will never be wise to buy and consume a healthy product and the cost has to be borne by Mother Nature. Drink Milk in Tetra Packs, stay healthy, keep nature safe as well!
