About Dollons

Our Story

dollons' plant

Successfully Running Since 2002

It all began almost a decade ago when one of our promoters embarked on a trip to a village near river Damodar. That being just an escape from the daily din and bustle of the city life, he chose to stay in serenity to flex his creative muscle a bit. But his busy mind kept him awake in the nights. "It was probably my third day of stay in the village and I was already heart-wrenched. The challenges of the dairy farmers living there prompted me the need to stay awake through the cold nights while comforting myself with several cups of black coffee."

A humble and emotional person that he has always been, he suddenly felt a burden; a kind of social responsibility towards these farmers may be. Although he left for his city the next day, his mind was stuck in a never-ending loop. No matter what he was doing, the thought of those villagers seemed to be always turning. And so he kept returning to the place almost every weekend. He spoke more to the dairy farmers, saw their lives from close quarters and soon became a part of the households there. Finding that the farmers selling milk at much cheaper rates, he was much curious to learn what actually prompted them to do so. Some more days there and he realized unavailability of a proper milk procurement center and lack of logistic facility to transport milk made them compromise.

So He together with Two More Promoters Decided to
Take the Wheel in the Hand.

And here we are, processing and packaging 4, 50,000 liters of healthy and fresh milk every day. Of course, it didn't happen in a day. It took months for our promoters to win the trust of the dairy farmers. Finally, in 2002, Dollons established a milk plant in the district of West Bengal, beginning with a humble capacity of 30,000 liters of milk per day.

Managed by a proficient team of dairy specialists and high-tech equipment, the plant keeps on expanding the production capacity from time to time. The unit, being one of the two franchises of Amul in West Bengal, has won an award for “Efficient Plant Operation” from Amul in 2012 among their 34 franchises across the country.

Not only the company is continuing to prosper as a dairy industry, but it has been equally working for the greater good of the society. India's almost 70% of the population being dependent on farmers, Dollons is doing everything to uplift their status both economically and socially; from helping them to get a fair share of price for the milk sold, educating them about cattle feed like silages and TMR to providing aid to underprivileged students. While India ranks first in the World's Milk production, Dollons family is working their fingers to the bone ensuring West Bengal gets the lion's share thereafter.
